I love the gift of books and thankfully I'm blessed with a boyfriend who understands this and my love of Young Adult/Kid's books. I arrived in MS to the lovely gift of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and E.L.Konigsburg's From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I had never read either book as a child, but I thoroughly enjoyed them as an adult! Great storytelling is timeless and ageless and these books prove it!
We went to my favorite bookstore here in Hattiesburg, Books-A-Million, and bought two more books that were originally for younger readers. I'm now working on L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of OZ. Another book I did not read as a child but I have seen the movies countless times. I also got Ridley Pearson's first book in the Kingdom Keepers series. I plan to try writing a YA story of my own. These books have been an inspiration!
This past week was also the release of my sixth story, which is included in an anthology that DCL Publications put together. You can find it over on Amazon or on All Romance Ebooks . I enjoyed writing this story as a tribute to my grandparents' generation that lived during World War Two.
So, what are my plans for this week I am at my 'second home?' Well, I came armed with a to-do list and have slowly started to cross stuff off. It is mostly writing tasks that I do not have time for during my normal days. The big news..... I (finally) gave in and bought a Kindle Fire. I got sick of feeling silly without one, after all I write ebooks!
And that is all the news I can think of today. I will eventually get around to posting a trip report of our trip to WDW in May.
Happy Week to all!
